Overview

The 4th Asian Transport Revenue Collection Forum will be held in Seoul on 11-12 October 2010, hosted by APSCA and supported by Korea Smart Card Co., Ltd (KSCC), the Seoul Metropolitan Government and CITYNET (the Asian regional network of local authorities).

The forum includes latest updates from operators of Asian transport e-ticketing and automated fare collection schemes, discussions with transport revenue collection experts and a site visit and study tour of the T-money scheme. There is also an optional training on ITS and Sustainable Transportation Policies. See below for the detailed programme.

The forum is Asia's largest meeting of transport card schemes and the best opportunity to share best practices, develop business and network with senior decision-makers and experts from the transport e-ticketing and automated fare collection business. At the last forum over 70% of participants were end-users and government agencies.

Seoul has the world's longest experience of using contactless transport cards (first launched in Seoul in 1995). In 2004 extensive and highly successful public transport reforms resulted in the world’s largest fully integrated, distance-based, e-ticketing scheme.

The T-money system is one of the world's largest contactless automated fare collection schemes, processing over 10 billion transactions annually with 45 million contactless cards and devices in circulation. - making this an excellent venue for the 4th Transport Revenue Collection Forum.
