Thomas Decker has over 20 years of experience in the card industry. He started his career with SMARTRAC, the leading RFID inlay and tag manufacturer, in 2003. During this time, he has served in different sales & business development related functions. In April 2017 SMARTRAC’s cards & ID document related divisions got acquired by French company LINXENS. Under the new ownership, Thomas is heading the Business Line Finance which covers all banking related inlay products. The Business Line also has a strategic focus on the emerging market of Powered Cards. Thomas holds a Master degree in Engineering from the University of Applied Science in Munich. He is based at SMARTRAC’s main manufacturing hub in Bangkok, Thailand.
Vernon Heng is the Sales Director for SPS. Based in SPS Singapore, he is responsible for all sales and marketing activities in the Asian region, including the handling of all distributors and agents of SPS. He has been highly involved in the penetration of SPS technology in various local and regional card manufacturers. Previously, Vernon Heng was Senior Director for AdvanIDe (Advanced ID Electronics) and he was in charge of various customers in the Asia Pacific region. In addition, he was also the AdvanIDe Line Manager for NXP and Infineon, supporting their chip card and RFID products.
Ronen is the founder and managing director of RES Data Security Ltd. The company provides a broad set of in-house technologies, expertize and knowhow in design and development of ultra low power computerized electronics, for a variety of purposes such as IoT, wearable electronics and advanced display cards. The company also specializes in taking newly developed products through all required stages into industrial mass volume production stage, while setting up the required supply chain.
Robert has more than 20 years’ experience in the biometrics, smart card and IT security industries. He created ground-breaking products, solutions and received several patents while working for companies that include Siemens, Giesecke & Devrient and BMW, prior to joining NEXT Biometrics in 2010. Robert has delivered numerous scientific papers and lectures as part of his professional life and he is an active contributor working with industry standards bodies. Robert received his PhD in Computer Science from Munich University of Technology. He is based in Munich, Germany.
Antonio D'Albore is a smart card specialist with more than 20 years of experience in smart cards development, manufacturing, personalization, integration and business development across Payment, Identification, Transit and Access Control industries. Antonio is the founder of Embedded Security News, an online resource that focus on card technology, projects and applications for businesses and consumers. He is the author of "The Rise of Biometric Cards", the first and only independent research on the subject of smart cards with embedded fingerprint sensors.
Innovative Program Director, Payment Business Unit
Currently, as Innovative Payment Products Director in Gemalto, Didier Dahan is in charge of the Asia product development including the next generation of consumer payment devices such as wearables and powered payment cards. Prior to this role, he was responsible for EMV and Contactless Program Management, overseeing the migration towards EMV and Contactless cards. Didier has over 18 years of experience focusing on Consumer Payments Projects in the Banking Industry, acting in different roles such as Project Management, Product engineering and R&D. Didier holds a Post-Graduation degree in Computer Science at IUSPIM in France.
Executive Vice President, Brand Infrastructure & Technologies Department
Tac Watanabe is Executive Vice President of the Brand Infrastructure & Technologies unit of JCB, and is responsible for developing and managing the delivery of products such as EMV, 3-D Secure, contactless and mobile payments. He is also leading the development of emerging products and services, including mobile wallets, tokenization, biometrics and remote payments, in order to deliver JCB’s unique value to its stakeholders. Tac was appointed to this position in January 2012. Tac has spent more than 20 years out of his 26-year career with JCB in the global area, making significant contributions to expanding the JCB brand globally. He was based in the U.S. for 6 years, and during his last 2 years in Los Angeles, he was in charge of smart card and other advanced technologies for the region.
Field Marketing Director for APAC, Financial Institution Business Unit
Chang Kim Huat is the Field Marketing Director for APAC in IDEMIA. He worked as R&D Platform Director from 2007-2015, at that time he was responsible for Smart Card Operating system and design for SIM Card, Payment Card and Embedded Secure Element. From 2016 onwards, he works as the Field Marketing Director for APAC and is responsible for Product Roadmap, APAC Scheme and Field Marketing Activities.
Head of Sales EMEA & LATAM, Business Line Smartcards
Roger joined Fingerprints over 1 year ago to establish and drive the smartcard business at Fingerprint with strategic global card manufacturers. He has been instrumental in forming and driving the strategy for these specific customers. Roger overseas the relationship with the value chain of the ecosystem, such as card manufacturers, but also card enablers & solution providers including Secure Element and inlay/prelam providers. Roger is also together with partners and the business development function at Fingerprints involved in relationships with the schemes and issuers.
Radek Matyasek is a security and biometric industry executive with over 20 years of experience. During his career, he worked in sales and marketing positions in STMicroelectronics, UPEK, AuthenTec (now Apple) and DigitalPersona (now CrossMatch). Radek has joined NEXT Biometrics in 2014 serving as company’s Vice President for Europe, Middle East, Africa & India. Since 2016, he is also responsible for SmartCard Segment sales for the company with its flagship product - flexible fingerprint sensor for smartcards.
VP - Authentication & Identity Solutions, Asia Pacific
Nimit has been with Mastercard for 10 years. He started in India in merchant acceptance development and then moved to digital payments. He has had extensive experience in driving Mastercard’s e-commerce channel in South Asia and South East Asia. Currently, Nimit is part of the Enterprise Security Solutions team at Mastercard, managing Authentication & Identity Solutions products in APAC region.
Brian has over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor technology, human interface and biometric industries. Prior to joining IDEX Biometrics, he held various senior level roles at Synaptics, the most recent of which was Senior Director of Strategic Marketing in the Biometrics Products Division. At Synaptics, he also held the role of Senior Director for the Large Touchscreen and Display Product Line. Prior to Synaptics, he was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Amalfi Semiconductor (acquired by QORVO). Brian holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Henley Business School.
Senior Director, Global Risk & Authentication Products
Mark is currently Senior Director, Global Risk & Authentication Products. Within this role he oversees the strategy, policy and new product & service development for Visa’s Chip card products, as well as leading licensing activities for Visa’s chip assets. Mark also represents Visa at EMVCo, the global technical body, serving on the its Board of Managers and Executive Committee. He has over 20 years’ experience in the payments industry, first working with JCB International across EMEA, then positions for Visa based in Europe and the US.
Angelito is a Senior Security Advisor at UL, working with the Identity Management & Security team on product security evaluations. A 20-year veteran in the smartcard industry, Angelito has extensive experience in the full development cycle of smartcard products. Through various roles held in Gemalto and INSIDE Secure, he has worked on the design and development of embedded software for smartcard and secure element products. Today, he leads a team of experts in UL security laboratory to perform security evaluations of payment cards and other security sensitive devices.
