Claudia Schwendimann has been working in the identity and security document business for twenty years and is the CEO of OeSD International, a daughter company of the Austrian State Printing House since 2007.
She advises governments of different, mainly developing countries on how to effectively manage identity and civil registration and how to accommodate the special needs in ePassport and eID projects based on ICAO specifications.
Claudia served as the Austrian ISO representative for Travel Documents to ICAO and was contributing in various official roles to the electronic Travel Document development (member of ICAO’s Technical Advisory Group, member of ICAO’s Implementation and Capacity Building Working Group, chairperson of the Expert Advisory Committee of FastPass Project for Automated Border Management, member of Intergraf’s Committee of Experts).
Janne Meijer is an Immigration Liaison Officer for the Kingdom of the Netherlands and posted in Bangkok. Besides Thailand she is also responsible for India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. As Immigration Liaison Officer, Janne works with airlines, host government, airport stakeholders and other representations in the host country to prevent improperly documented travel and illegal migration and on other immigration issues and priorities. Janne is a trained document examiner and her role also includes detecting fraudulent or altered documents, which may be submitted with applications for Schengen visas.
Program Manager, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
Ciaran is Program Manager for the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Public Key Directory (PKD), an infrastructure that supports the international electronic travel document ecosystem through sharing of continuously-updated data needed for document authentication. He is responsible for the recent introduction of new PKD-related innovations that serve the international travel and border community, including the ICAO Travel Document and Health Master Lists and the private sector PKD data use pilot. Additionally, he is strongly engaged in work on development of ICAO specifications and guidance for new electronic documents such as the Digital Travel Credential and the Visible Digital Seal and international initiatives to render border management more efficient and effective through digitalization.
